Apple Releases Legacy Contact Feature to Designate a Family Member Access to Your Data Upon Death

Apple announced an a new legacy contact feature during WWDC earlier this year. This new feature is now available to everyone who installs iOS 15.2 or later on their device. The legacy contact features critically important functionality that will allow a family or friend access the data on your iOS device in the event of your death.

There are several steps you need to take to enable this feature. I looked at several guides and I believe this one created by Macrumors may be the best using a step by step approach. Don’t hesitate and be sure to set this up at your earliest convenience to ensure that precious data such as photos, videos and other priceless information will continue to be accessible to family members in the future.
